Report and Webinar: Results of 2014 Early Psychosis Intervention Program Survey

Join EPION and EENet for a webinar on September 10 to discuss the SISC report detailing the results of Survey 2, and the current state of EPI programs in Ontario.

Early psychosis intervention (EPI) is an evidence-based, recovery-focused care model for youth experiencing an early episode of psychosis. In 2011, the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care released a set of standards for EPI programs based on international guidelines. The Ministry also created a Standards Implementation Steering Committee (SISC) to support system-wide implementation of the standards.

The SISC conducted two surveys to learn about current program practices and needs in relation to the standards. The first, conducted in 2012, focused on Standards 1-6; the second, conducted in 2014, focused on Standards 7-13.

The SISC has just released a report detailing the results of Survey 2 Key findings highlight:

• Capacity;
• Training;
• Monitoring and evaluation;
• Barrier-free service and health equity;
• Networks;
• Accountability.
